Great post Julie. Worth the wait. I appreciate your comments and insights into your experience with Miray. Your notes on planning and managing risk reminded me of an interview I saw years ago with Ted Turner. The interviewer asked him why he took such a big risk starting CNN. He said something to the effect of "My partners and I analyzed the business landscape extensively, we planned for all scenarios. We believed strongly that a cable news network had an excellent chance for success, so it didn't seem like a risk." That stuck with me. If you work at something you can go a long way to work the risk right out of it, at least to an extent that you can move forward confidently.
